Cuba Facts

The warm tropical island of Cuba is located in the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico in the Eastern Standard time zone. Over half of the population is white in Cuba with the language being primarily Spanish along with a large spread of English and Spanish. Cuba is a communist state with the Chief of State being Fidel Castro. Additional Cuba facts are as follows. The island was established as a country in 1508, the capital is Havana, and current currency is the peso.

The quality of the surfing depends on the season. The surfing season for the eastern part of Cuba generally is in the fall during the months of September, October, November, and December. November through February is a popular time to surf the Nothern coast of cuba. A lot of storms occur on the southern coast of Cuba during the summer through fall from June to November making the waves dangerous and powerful.
