Puerto Rico History

Much of Puerto Rico history and culture has been altered and formed by the early actions of Christopher Columbus and Spain. In 1943 Christopher Columbuses second voyage to the Americas resulted in the Spanish settlers claiming the island of Puerto rico from its natives. Puerto Rico was granted the rights of US citizenship in 1917.
